Weekend Massage

The busy season of the holidays is so stressful. (physically and mentally). There are lots of things, events, activities to attend to. Parties here and there, invitations and many more. I am feeling so stressed already that I can feel some aches particularly on my shoulders and lower back. I decided to have a body massage. It is very soothing and it relaxes the whole body. It helps in the blood circulation giving the body a time to rejuvenate and relieve those pains brought about by stress. Now I am feeling good and in place after the weekend massage.

Tuesday Headache

I have to take an absent today from work because I am not feeling well when I woke up early this morning. There is that tingling head ache that bothers me. I cannot do anything but to rest myself for the day. My sense of balance is already affected. I drink lots of water to flush out the toxins brought about by the stress. Then have Fern-C vitamins to repair my acidic body. I sleep for two hours in the morning. I am thankful that in the early evening I am still able to attend  my class.

Hand and Arm Pains

I recently felt some pains especially on my hands during mornings. I was thinking that this is due to my daily stress at work in the office, classes and even at home chores. There is a poor circulation problem on my arms going to my hand. I have read that with this kind of problem usually has vitamin B complex deficiency. The Fern coffee that I am taking everyday really help a lot because it has B complex and it is good for the circulation. Now it is no longer painful and I can move my arms and hand with out the cramps that I used to feel.

Cold and flu season

This last week of November I experienced some weather changes. There was no rain for the past weeks and then suddenly the weather got cold and colder now. I have observed that many people even my officemates suffered from colds and flu. Symptoms are cough, sore throat, runny nose, and nasal congestion; sometimes this may be accompanied by conjunctivitis (pink eye), muscle aches, fatigue, headaches, shivering, and loss of appetite. Fever is often present thus creating a symptom picture which overlaps with influenza. The symptoms of influenza however are usually more severe. The common cold usually resolves spontaneously in 7 to 10 days, but some symptoms can last for up to three weeks. In children the cough lasts for more than 10 days in 35–40% and continue for more than 25 days in 10%.Those suffering from colds often report a sensation of chilliness even though the cold is not generally accompanied by fever, and although chills are generally associated with fever, the sensation may not always be caused by actual fever. In one study, 60% of those suffering from a sore throat and upper respiratory tract infection reported headaches, often due to nasal congestion. This weather condition would likely to continue until Christmas so better take extra care of ourselves.

Reproductive Health Issues

The present issue about the reproductive health bill is controversial at present because many are getting into the real details about it. The Roman Catholic Church expresses its opposition against the bill on many counts, most especially the procurement and distribution of family planning supplies for the whole country, when the available evidence from peer reviewed medical journals supports the hypothesis that when ovulation and fertilization occur in women taking oral contraceptives (OCs) or using intrauterine devices (IUD), post-fertilization effects are operative on occasion to prevent clinically recognized pregnancy. Hormonal contraceptives and/or IUDs directly affect the endometrium. These effects have been presumed to render the endometrium relatively inhospitable to implantation or to the maintenance of the preembryo or embryo prior to clinically recognized pregnancy. These make pills and IUDS abortifacient.Pro-life groups, and many professionals in the medical and nursing fields, believe that physicians and policy makers should understand and respect the beliefs of patients who consider human life to be present and valuable from the moment of fertilization. Patients should be made fully aware of this information so that they can consent to or refuse the use of artificial contraceptives. However, the position of the Catholic Church and the pro-life groups does not mean that they espouse the attitude of "natalism" at all costs, as if the "number" of children, in itself, were the unmistakable sign of authentic christian matrimonial life. Hoping that the people behind this issue would be responsible to educate the importance of reproductive health to all Filipinos as the population growth is already alarming at this time.

Bros' Dyspepsia

We were troubled by my brother who got a stomach problem (dyspepsia) where he suffered stomach upset with associated pains. It was painful because he felt his stomach was full of air that kept on moving in circles but did not moved down.Dyspepsia is  also known as upset stomach or indigestion, refers to a condition of impaired digestion. It is a medical condition characterized by chronic or recurrent pain in the upper abdomen, upper abdominal fullness and feeling full earlier than expected when eating. It can be accompanied by bloating, belching, nausea, or heartburn. Dyspepsia is a common problem, and is frequently due to gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or gastritis, but in a small minority may be the first symptom of peptic ulcer disease (an ulcer of the stomach or duodenum) and occasionally cancer. Hence, unexplained newly-onset dyspepsia in people over 55 or the presence of other alarming symptoms may require further investigations. It was terrible for my brother because of the pain. His work was hampered as well as me and my sister because we had to attend to him. Good thing it subsided when he took motilium and buscopan over the counter drugs. Now he is feeling ok and already watchful of what he is eating.

Healing Fingers

I used to suffer some cracked fingers particularly my point finger and my thumb. It was painful then because the layer of the skin started to dry out and developed some cracks. It really affected my daily activities especially at work because I do computer inputs everyday. I cannot do some heavy laundry also because it can be irritated by the laundry soaps or detergent bars. In short it was an agony for me for the past three months. I am glad now that it is slowly healed with the aid of Fern-C. I emptied the capsules and dilute it in water then placed my hands. I let it stayed in the water & Fern-C mix for about 30 minutes massaging each finger tips. I really spent two sessions on this and the result was very good. Now my hands are back to its normal state and the cracks don't bother anymore.

Body Oil

I always pay attention to my wellness at this time. During my shop at the nearby mall, I bought this deep relaxing body oil in almond flavor.  The scent is good and I often use it after my daily shower where the skin is still damp. I can feel that my skin is moisturized the whole day even when I am in an air conditioned room in the office. It pays to look for some things that are essential to our personal well being.

FernCoffee

One of the new product that the Fern company introduced during the workshop where  I attended was this FernCofee. The coffee mix with more perks. It is not just a coffee but has vitamins and minerals that would help improve your health. Fortified with vitamins B1,B2,B6,B12,C,D3,calcium and zinc. I can personally say that this product really helps improve my health. I used to have some muscle pains particularly in my right hand starting from the fingers up to the shoulder. This is because of my daily work as an encoder in the office. I was thinking that I have a deficiency in vitamin B complex which is needed for the circulation on the muscles. For 2 weeks to a month I can see some improvement and now I seldom feel some pains anymore. This product is such a great help for my health and wellness.

Oral Kit

I was on a live-in seminar this weekend for two nights. Before attending it, I first went to the mall and bought some personal necessities. This oral kit compose of a toothbrush and toothpaste was very helpful. They are of good quality and kind. It thoroughly cleanses my mouth, teeth, and tongue. Even when I got up in the morning I can feel that my gums are protected as it gently cleansed well. It is quite pricey compared to the ordinary brands but I do not compromise the price for its good benefits to my oral health.

Digital Thermometer

Flu is in season again and my brother just got cured from dengue. One important gadget to have at home that really helped during those times of dengue sickness is this digital thermometer. It is very easy to use in determining one's body temperature. You just hold in seconds then would automatically alarm to show the temperature result. Unlike the old thermometer where mercury is used and it is hazardous to health. This one is so safe to use even by the kids. By having a thermometer you would be able to identify the presence of flu due to high body temperature. It really helps in times of emergency situation.

Annoying Piggies

For the past weeks I was busy at work and I often encountered women who are overweight  overly acting on the way they talk or walk. It was just annoying for me to see most fat women who are arrogant regarding their concerns in the office. I just don't know why they behaved in such manners. As I thought maybe it was their  defense mechanism to be recognized by the society. I am not the only one who observed about this behavior as I also talked about it with my friend My. Same thing according to her. She also encountered fat women who raised their voices when approaching her just to catch  attention. I just had  bad encounters with some piggy women and I think it creates an ugly impression not just on the manners but on the physical looks as well.

Citronella Oil

I am always concern especially on the wellness of home. When I visited Manila last year I bought this good product of Giga, the Citronella Essential Oil. This is a popular insect repellent. The mosquito repellent qualities have been verified by research. It includes its effectiveness in repelling yellow fever mosquito. Citronella oil has little or no toxicity when used as a topical insect repellent with no reports of adverse effects of concerned. I am always using this natural oil at home and it drives mosquitoes, flies and other insects away. It has strong smell that is not irritating when inhaled. This is a good natural product to use at home.

Feminine Anion

When my cousin visited at home last week she introduced me to this sanitary product of Anion. I have to try this one because it promotes good health to women as the product contains negative ions. The intensity of negative ions released would effectively  suppresses the survival and multiplication of bacteria on the sanitary napkin. Most feminine hygiene products sold in the market today are made from bleached and recycled papers and they do not promote healthy results especially to women.

Opthal's Schedule of Visit

My father has been operated from cataract for a month and a half now and he visited the doctor this morning for the final check up and measurement of his new eye glasses. So far his vision is doing very good as per the opthalmologist's diagnosis. He can now see tiny objects in the eye chart which manifests of good eye recovery after the cataract operation. The eyeglasses will be available in the next few days because the lens will be specially ordered just for his vision. It took sometime for the recovery but the end result is so far so good.

Headache of the day

I had a very bad headache late this afternoon while working in the office. I feel this is part of the  pms as it is coming in schedule. The past month was very stressful to me and I was thinking that some effects of that stress manifests at this time. I took a little break about 30 minutes and rest myself. I massage my forehead to help relieved the pain then apply some menthol liniment. I sweat after and felt alright. Good thing I am able to make some posts and updates here. But I think I really need a break from all the stresses in life.

Eye Surgery of tatay

Last week my father undergone a cataract operation on his right eye. Me and my siblings were together with him to attend on his pre and post operation needs especially on his medications. I was doing research about this eye disease and it was said that cataract is the clouding of the lens in the eye that affects vision. It is very common to older people. The lens is a clear part of the eye that helps to focus light, or an image, on the retina. The retina is the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye.In a normal eye, light passes through the transparent lens to the retina. Once it reaches the retina, light is changed into nerve signals that are sent to the brain. The lens must be clear for the retina to receive a sharp image. If the lens is cloudy from a cataract, the image you see will be blurred as we age, some of the protein may clump together and start to cloud a small area of the lens. This is a cataract. Over time, the cataract may grow larger and cloud more of the lens, making it harder to see.Researchers suspect that there are several causes of cataract, such as smoking and diabetes. Or, it may be that the protein in the lens just changes from the wear and tear it takes over the years. For a week after Tatays' operation, he  is getting better now. His vision slowly gets back to normal again though there are still red swelling part in his right eye. Hoping for better results until recovery time that would take for about two months from operation.

Body Oil

I always use body oil  as part of my personal grooming and so when I ran out of a bottle from my dresser, I immediately bought one  in the mall. The moisturizing effect of oil is very good on my skin. Even when I stay in an air conditioned place or stay outdoors my skin is always feeling smooth without the drying. One body treat that I would always maintain everyday.

Korean Ginseng tea

I spent time last weekend looking  for my favorite Korean ginseng tea in the mall and I was thankful that the tea was available in an alternative medicine shop. So I bought this one box that contains 100 individually packed tea granules. The main active ingredients of Korean ginseng are ginsenosides. These steroid-like phytochemicals have adaptogenic properties, which give ginseng property to counter the effects of stress. The glycosides act on the adrenal glands, helping to prevent adrenal hypertrophy and excess corticosteroid production in response to stress. Ginsenosides increase protein synthesis and activity of neurotransmitters in the brain. Ginseng stimulates the formation of blood vessel and improves blood circulation in the brains, thereby improving memory and cognitive abilities. Ginseng is also used for diabetes, migraine, infections, radiation and chemotherapy protection, to aid in sleep, and to stimulate the appetite.Korean ginseng contains steroids such as panaxtriol. The steroids are remarkably similar in structure to anabolic steroids found naturally in our body. This makes Korean ginseng ideal for athletes and body builders looking for a natural alternative to anabolic steroid. Korean ginseng is also used by women for treatment of post menopausal symptoms. This ginseng tea is really beneficial for me because I am always on stress especially on my work and studies. One healthy Ruby Tuesday to all!
